The Client
ELEVATE Sydney was a five-day festival featuring live music, drone shows, and community experiences. A party on another level, quite literally, becuase it was held on the iconic Cahill Expressway that runs above Circular Quay train station. Sponsored by Destination NSW and produced by AGB Creative, it was designed to bring the public back into the CBD to boost the local economy and provide a unifying public celebration.
The Challenge
With a brief received in late October, tickets on sale 6 weeks later and event on January 1 – there was much work to be done! Chasing Albert was appointed to develop and implement the full digital marketing strategy for the event – running a total of 8 weeks.

First up was web design, development, and copywriting. We created a website that not only popped with personality, but helped users easily navigate the extensive event program. It received a user acceptance testing score of 98% and easily handled 197,00 visitors in 30 days with zero downtime.

To help get people talking and booking, we enlisted micro influencers from relevant social platforms to create fun, informative content that helped boost awareness of ELEVATE Sydney to our target audiences. Over a two week period, we managed 37 influencers across Instagram and TikTok driving over 200,000 views of ELEVATE Sydney influencer content.

With an always on approach, event goers had information at their fingertips, ready to respond and resolve queries in a flash. 70% of direct messages were responded to within an hour helping to ensure an outstanding antendee experience.

The Impact
Tickets were fully booked within 17 minutes in 2022, only to be outdone by 2023 with a 15-minute sell out. Despite torrential rain, crowds showed up in droves to enjoy some of Australia’s best talent. With extreme weather, came the need for quick and clear communication. Ticketholders were successfully informed and managed from start to finish thanks to fast creative content, social media advertising, and always-on community management.
